  4. Breakfast — the next morning before check-out

Is the food good?

The food is one of the most-praised aspects in guest reviews. The chef uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients — fish often caught that morning, coconuts from nearby trees, spices ground fresh. It's authentic Kerala home-style cooking, not restaurant food. Most guests say the fish curry and pearl-spot fry are highlights they remember long after the trip.

Can you bring your own food or alcohol?

You're welcome to bring your own snacks or beverages. Many guests bring alcoholic beverages as houseboats don't typically provide them. Just let the crew know if you'd like glasses or ice.
